Official Records and Custody Contacts
The correct contact depends on who created the record and where the person is now. The Union County Sheriff’s Office and Union County Detention Center control county booking sheets, jail-log entries, booking photographs, and current jail custody. The sheriff accepts document or file requests in person, by phone, or through U.S. mail. No electronic request form, booking-photo fee, or records-counter schedule is published, so call first.

Use this routing list to avoid sending a request to an office that does not hold the file:
- For a county booking sheet, jail-log entry, intake photo, current custody, or release fact, contact the sheriff or detention center.
- For an El Dorado or Smackover incident or arrest report, start with the arresting police department.
- For a Junction City report, verify the current Arkansas police records custodian through City Hall before sending personal details.
- For a filed case or final disposition, use Search ARCourts and then contact the clerk with the case number.
- For someone received into state custody, use the Arkansas Department of Corrections inmate search. A person still awaiting transfer at the county jail may not appear.
- For federal prison or immigration custody, use the official BOP or ICE locator. Neither is a Union County mugshot source.
- For an emergency call 911. Unreported incidents and non-emergencies go to sheriff communications.
A focused public-record request should identify the full name, approximate arrest or booking date, arresting agency if known, and each existing record sought. Ask separately for the booking sheet or jail-log entry and the booking photograph. Arkansas FOIA permits actual reproduction and mailing costs, but Union County publishes no booking-copy fee schedule. Request an estimate before processing and ask for the cited exemption if material is withheld.
